I promised you more, and I'm delivering!  We have had such a hard time picking photos for the catalog.  They are all so great.  Isn't Anna just the sweetest thing in the Ava skirt and Emma tee?  We are so in love with the fabrics for the fall and hope you love them as much as we do.

Excitement in the Air

I am so sorry I have neglected to post in quite some time.  No excuses, just the truth.  School's out, and so is my back.  I actually messed it up about 3 weeks ago, and between appoiontments with the chiropractor, carting kids around, and the Fall 2010 season just around the corner, well, let's just say I am sure you understand.  I had to give up a trip to Six Flags (which was very hard b/c I love rollercoasters) and a week long mission trip with my youngest, Bailey.  But, hopefully, I am on the mend.  Enough about that, now on to some "good" stuff.

 
Isn't she precious?  We are going thru 400 + photos of pics for the fall catalog.  I have no idea how we will ever decide.  Lori Anderson is simply amazing!  She is also Simply Southern Photography in the Knoxville, TN area.  Ya'll definitely need to check her out.  She makes it seem so easy, but if you have ever tried to take decent pics, then you know how hard it is to take good ones.

We've got some new patterns for you this fall, as well.  Can't wait to show them to you, but you will have to wait just a little longer.... Oh, the anticipation!  Ya'll have a great one...

Just Makes Me Smile

The other night I was on my way back to the office to burn the midnight oil. At an intersection, I saw a young man standing on the corner, well he wasn't just standing, he was actually dancing!  He looked like he was having the best time.  He was holding a large sign that read, "Large 1 Topping Pizza
 - $9.99"  He is an employee of the local Dominoes Pizza, and was making the most of the job he had been given to do.  So many times, we are asked to do things we consider "boring" or "mundane", but this young man reminded me that we should always put our everything into whatever job we have.  As I drove by, I couldn't help but smile and be inspired (not to mention hungry for pizza).  This season has been so tremendous.  We couldn't be more appreciative, but at times it has been stressful, as well.  Sweet Tea hostesses and reps are so amazing, and our customers so thoughtful and encouraging!!  It all just makes me happy and thankful for every aspect of this business, even the "boring" and mundane" tasks like book keeping and paper work.

And this precious pic makes me smile as well.  Girls just love to twirl!  And even though this is not a "twirl" skirt, it has some definite "twirl appeal".  Isn't she just beautiful?  Keep the pics coming ladies we love them all!

We've been robbed!

That's right...we were robbed! Our trustworthy, but dirty, trailer was stolen the other day. We use it to store fixtures, displays, etc. for art shows. It's been around for a while, so we are missing it. Tracie and I are so naive...never thought someone might actually steal the old thing! 

 

Maybe we need a guard dog. I guess we could let Fletcher keep watch over the place...on second thought, maybe not. Look at my little Fletcher. Tracie says I spoil him too much. Weston gave Fletcher to me for my birthday almost two years ago when he was headed off to school. ROLL TIDE! I guess he thought I needed someone to keep me company and take the focus off of him. He's a yorkiepoo, but Joel says he looks like a raccoon. He's my little man!

Speaking of Weston, he's coming home for the summer. SO excited! Joel and I will have to readjust to having him home, but I can't wait to have him around. He's going to work for the feds this summer as an intern. He just thought he had it bad getting up for class at 8:00 a.m. He's gonna be punching a time clock and living like the real world for a while!  I guess I can pack his lunch like I used to do for school. If only he were that small again.

Time Flies

I don't know why I am feeling so nostalgic lately.  Maybe it's because my oldest just went to her first prom (pics later) and my "baby" just got accepted to the Magnet Highschool she wanted.  While we are all very excited for these milestones, I can't help but wonder where my babies went.  Wasn't it just yesterday I was chasing after them, and here I am still wishing they would slow down!  Where does the time go? 

We never really  listen when people tell us, "Enjoy them now, b/c they grow up so fast."  While they are telling us this, we are thinking, "Yeah, right.  I wish they would grow up so I could get some sleep, or not have to change another diaper, or if they could just wipe their own bottom, and the list goes on.  Well something happens while we are wishing for "this phase to pass".  They do grow up, and sometimes, just sometimes you wish you could go back; if only for a moment! 

Well here are some pics from Lauren's big night.  I thought she looked beautiful!  Mike was so quiet when he came home and I was helping her get ready.  He walked in and just sat on her bed and was so quiet!  He was probably wondering "where all the time went", as well!

PS we are shipping orders out every day!  (which explains why it has been so long between posts)  Due to the custom nature of our line our delivery time is 6-8 weeks from the time we process the order.

It is gorgeous here today...about time. I took a few minutes earlier today and went shopping. Not much of a shopper any more...I used to be but I am always thinking of that I need to be doing and it somehow dampens the spirit.  However, with spring here and sending out all our adorable spring orders, I had an itch and had to scratch it!  I was a little disappointed, funny isn't... you have a little money to spend and you can't find a thing... don't have any money and everything in the store screams "buy me"! 

My hubbie (Joel) and I are trying to plan our vacation for the summer and are having the hardest time deciding what to do.  We had thought about a cruise and decided with the economy like it is, do we really need to go on a cruise?  My first inclination was, "Yes! I need to go on a cruise," but his level-headedness prevailed and I gave up!  I think we will go to the beach instead...one good thing about living only three hours from the most beautiful beaches in the U.S. I just love the beach...seafood, sun, relaxing, reading a good book...

Is Spring Really Here?

Don't ya just love Spring?  I do.  Especially this Spring because it has been so darn cold around here.  Seems like it has been Winter forever.  It warmed up over the weekend, but that was just a tease, because Monday was freezing!  Now, it's getting warm again.  Yeah!!

Picture Contest Winners

How about this cutie pie!  This is a pic from our very first season.  Seems like just yesterday, we were launching Sweet Tea.  We were so scared that ya'll wouldn't like our concept - taking classic styles and twisting them a bit with fun and sometimes funky fabrics.  But, we held true to our original ideas, and WOW!  This has been (and continues to be) our biggest season, by far.  You ladies are just terrific.

Spring Break

It's that time of year that we all look forward to, at least those of us with kids in school.  SPRING BREAK!  Gives us a little taste of the summer; sleeping late and just being lazy.  Our family usually takes a short little trip, either to the beach, Disney or anywhere, really.  But, we are so busy this season, that we had to put it on the back burner.  Hopefully, we can make up for it this summer. 

 My oldest got a great "babysitting" gig.  Our neighbor from the house we lived in last (who is now the Sweet Tea accountant), invited her and a friend to go to the beach with them.  They have 2 precious children, and wanted to be able to have some "free time" while there.  Perfect opportunity for 2 highschool girls!  The family left on Friday after school, but Lauren and Ava (her friend) had a Girl's conference on Friday and Saturday.  so, they drove down Sunday morning (by themselves).  The girls were excited about it, but as parents, we were a nervous wreck!  They made it fine and are having a great time.  When I talked with her Monday, they had been to 5 different playgrounds with the kids and were in need of a nap.

This is a pic of the two of them - Lauren is on the left and Ava on the right.  They remind me of the good "old" highschool days - best friends, hanging out and lots of laughs!  Except, they are much, much sweeter and so much more beautiful, both inside and out!

 Many of you saw this photo on the blog several weeks ago and asked if this item was in the trunk for the Spring season and unfortunately it was not available at the time.  However, it is part of our Sweet Tea Ltd. Collection that we are in the process of loading to the website.  This is one of the items that we have left from the Show we did a couple of weeks ago.  If you are interested, let me know and I will check for your size.  Remember, these are limited quantity items.....  Just an advantage to checking out our blog!  The other items from the Ltd. Collection are available online as well.  We will soon be adding the remaining samples from the trunk shows.  Check back often........
